Hobart, Tasmania

Hotel: Vibe Hotel
Hotel Review: This hotel was fabulous - one caveat - our first room had a broken a/c, but they put us in a new room right away. The hotel was central, modern, and close to lots of shops and restaurants. The staff was helpful and friendly - and the price was quite reasonable - about $120/night. I'd highly recommend it!
Sights Visited: Elizabeth Street Mall, Pier, Art Mob (for Aboriginal art), Salamanca area.

Tour of Bruny Island: Lots of pretty views and stops at cute shops

Tour of Maria Island: A walk through nature - hiking alongside wallabies, kangaroos, and wombats mainly - with beautiful views!
Restaurants we liked: Sana Rose and Mr. Burger for the onion rings especially - but again - the Asian food everywhere was fantastic.
What we thought about Tasmania: We didn't really know what to expect - but it was incredibly beautiful. We were a bit disappointed to not see a Tasmanian Devil in the wild - although I'm fairly sure I saw one as road kill today :( - they are apparently nocturnal, so seeing one during the day is unlikely. At least we saw one at the zoo in Sydney. We met some wonderful folks from Brisbane on our tour to Bruny Island yesterday who gave us a lot of good information about their hometown. We hope to meet up with them when we are there. But next - we are off to Melbourne - we are in the Hobart Airport now!
