Day 9

Our last full day in Iceland. It was peaceful and stress free. We drove around Grundarfjordar and then to the COVID testing site, stopping off for some Icelandic snacks to take home along the way. Fortunately, we were able to get our rapid test today, and not tomorrow morning, as we had booked. This will make traveling much less stressful (yes, we are still both negative). We are staying at Midgardur Center Hotel - it's more central than our first hotel and it included spa access, which we just enjoyed. Before that, we stopped for beer and shared some small bites at a few places, all of it was very good: beers during happy hour (e.g., our hotel), a Chinese crepe at Chinese Flavor, beer and vegan burnt ends at Brewdogs, cauliflower soup in a bread bowl at Svarta Kaffid, and veggie banh mi/summer roll at Banh Mi. We revisited Braud and Company to bring home some of their pastries (one might need to be eaten tonight)! A great day to end our Iceland adventure! Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow for our flight back! 🤞
